Oh Geez. Katie Vineyard recently sent this sequence from last week at La Jolla Shores. Sporting her ichiban game and riding her 8’6″ Craig SUP gun, Katie draws a nice line. Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, would be proud. Big ups and happy hunting, Katie.

Check out Derek on a recent Surfline.com article. Derek made a quick strike mission down to Todos Santos on the last big swell. After many days of rain the skies broke to calmer winds and sunshine. Derek was there once again stroking himself over some mean ledges. CLICK HERE to check out the images.

Meet Joe Termini

My name is Joe Termini. JVC asked me to post some images from my travels and adventures in NY. I Currently live in NYC and I am a surfer. For work I do photography and producing. Its amazing cause I am constantly living between these two worlds. One is being a care free surfer spending nearly every day in the water. I can say that each of these experiences is truly “the best day ever”.

Then there is another side of me. The fast pace business of the fashion world. It is completely different but I love it. It takes a little more time to find the real beauty in it. However, the beauty is there and it’s an extremely exiting and amazing world with obviously a lot happening.

Surfing keeps me grounded. Surfing allows me to understand how life in its simplest form can be full of excitement and beauty. I try to bring the same mindset to work with me everyday. So I will be posting some images of some exiting adventures, pretentious parties, and everything else that  happens here. I hope you enjoy.

Angela Lindvall

This is a photograph I had taken in PR. I was there for a photo shoot with Adidas. Everyone went for a swim after and I snapped a few images

Angela snap shot

That was a quick snap shot I took. I shot this photo with my favorite camera. It’s called a Sea and Sea. It looks a like underwater camera from a Jacques Cousteau movie.

Under water flip

I have a bunch of images from this series those three are my favorite. Maybe i will post some more in the future.

Nick Potash Scrimshaw Revisited

nickpotash_01

Nick Potash’s craft really speaks for itself; a surfer from La Jolla, Nick moved away from the beach that he called home to pursue his talents in the City of Angels. Once in L.A. he has been producing amazing work both in his jewelry and on canvas. Truly a man of many talents.

His jewelry is made with Scrimshaw, considered the only truly American art form.  Scrimshaw originated with the Inuits carving art on to bone, but was brought to new heights in the 1800s with the boom in the whaling industry which took men out to sea for months on end. To curb boredom they would carve trinkets and treasures for loved ones back home. While whaling is now viewed in a much different light, this intensely intricate art form has nearly vanished in the last 100 years making all surviving examples treasures rich with history and sentiment. With all the recent swell activity in the Pacific Ocean surfers all over have been scoring consistent sizable surf. Flynn sent over some shots showing what Hawaii considers sizable. Outer reefs flaring up.

Los Angeles River Run

LA River Run 01

During the recent rains, Jeff Calder and I decided it would be a good idea to go see how high the water could really get.

We got motavated and went out to document the wetness.

After our wet bike ride through the city, we rewarded ourselves with a cold whiskey, and some free pasta at The Tattle Tale in Culver City.

Living the dream.

Enjoy.
