From their forthcoming album Secret Rituals, the Grates new single “Turn Me On” goes super serious. Black and white camerawork by director Dimitri Basil. Enjoy

Michael Kew is usually behind the lens but here he’s captured riding a 6’2″ Wegener Seaglass(finless) Tuna surfboard. Michael painted it black and was looking smooth out at Rincon in his Hoplite 2mm long sleeve spring. Michael said the board rides amazing at the point. It’s good to see the photographers catch some waves as well.

Is that a sapling in your pocket or are you just happy to be in a sweet band?

The recent west coast south swell brought fun waves and sunny skies for most of southern California this past weekend. Matuse Family Member, Tarik Khashoggi, headed south to the beachies of Zuma to score some shade. Michael Kew capturing the moment, Seth de Roulet shooting water in the foreground.

Flynn tries something different after a less than stellar session on a “regular” surfboard. He ends up having a blast on his big yellow 8’2″ Owl Chapman.

Issue: July 2011
In case you didn’t catch it Matuse is featured in this month’s GQ on page 24. A couple photos and a nice write up. Big ups to GQ for recognizing the Ichiban.

Big Congratulations to Matuse Family Member, Harley Taich, for recently making the USA Surf Team. She’ll be representing us against other top teenagers from around the world. Harley also placed 3rd at the recent US Championships held at Trestles. A strong showing for this young lady. We’re expecting big things in the future from Harley.
