Dear Matuse Familia,
Reporting to you from Northern Norway way up in the Arctic Circle. I find myself back in the islands of Lofoten where the Savage Viking woman Stealers once roamed so freely devouring lamb shanks and crafting iron swords. Lofoten is also home to the oldest mountains on the planet and some of the best fishing known to man. On previous Arctic surf expeditions I have done in the past to Lofoten, I have gotten to know a family by the last name Olson. The Olson’s are an Arctic surf version of the Brady Bunch Family. They are obsessed with surfing and love the lifestyle that comes along with it. Tommy Olson, the father of the family, runs and owns a surf camp unstadcamping.com ( The Arctic surf experience) right on Norway’s most famous surf break called Unstad. When Unstad is firing on all cylinders it becomes a world class wave.
I received an email from Tommy in January asking If I would like to come and help him with his surf camp during the summer. Which includes Instructing surf lessons to cleaning the latrines, etc. People from all over Western Europe come to Unstad bay to camp, surf, and enjoy the long summer nights under the midnight sun. Tommy filled me in on what I was going to be doing and with no hesitation I was in.
I’ve been in Norway for little over a week teaching surf lessons everyday spending around six hours a day in the freezing Arctic waters. I have been putting the 6/5/4mm Tumo through the ringer! She has proven to be the warmest wetsuit that has ever touched my skin. It lives up to it’s name and then some!!! Good on ya boy’s for designing the warmest wetsuit on the market. They say the sky is the limit!!! I think your wetsuits are there. Keep it up.
Anyways here’s a few photo’s of where I’m staying. More coming soon!!! Enjoy the summer warmth cause it’s F-ing freezing up here!!! Stanger Banger out!!!!
Cheers, Pat Millin
