Here are a few great electro songs to get your weekend going. Not much writing needed for these, they’re just excellent beats. All of these songs are remixed by various artists in the house scene from around the world. Definitely some tunes to roll in the weekend with.  The last song is a bit longer and a bit more laid back then the others, so just turn the speakers up a bit more. The production quality of these songs is astounding.

J Waters – Fashawn the Fresnan

Fashawn is a 21 year old rapper from Fresno, California who was featured on XXL Mag’s 2010 “10 Freshmen to Watch” cover earlier this year along with Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, and J. Cole (09’s saw Kid Cudi and B.o.B. make the cut). That’s a little unfair though since, unlike most on the list he already has one absolutely terrific LP under his belt with “Boy Meets World.” Here are two songs from a project called “One Shot One Kill” that EASILY finds a place in my pantheon of mixtapes, including “Feel it All” that makes great use of the lovely Canadian songstress Feist. The third song is from the more recent “Grizzly City 3″ mixtape and reworks Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody”.

J Waters – XV: Square in the Circle

Everybody and their grandmother has made a mixtape by now, but it’s only the rare few that warrant anything but a cursory listen followed by a swift kick to the trashbin. The tracks following; however, are different and  are off the mixtape by a Kansas-born rapper named XV. The mixtape is called The Square in the Circle and is truly a great project front to back. He works with one producer called Seven and crafts some truly terrific alternative rock inspired tracks. Start off with “Party Lights,” it’s a great introduction and one of my favorite rap songs period. Find where to get the mixtape at Just Excellent Beats. (link below)

For those of you who don’t already know, Girl Talk introduced a new album yesterday entitled All Day. The album is seamless and is definitely some of his catchiest work.
