Just caught the video for my favorite track off Talib Kweli’s new album Gutter Rainbows, entitled “Cold Rain”. The track itself, aided by a gospel hook, finds Kweli dropping some serious insight and knowledge. With references from Voltaire and hashtags (Twitter) to Reaganomics and the Bhagavad Gita (a Hindu scripture), Kweli preaches about why he is a musician, for freedom and against hypocrisy.
