Matuse Family Member, Nathan Zoller, has been busy. The video shows Nathan running around Southern Cal chasing waves and busting his fins free. The end section is from Hawaii and shows Nathan cutting loose in the warm stuff. Keep an eye out for this kid out of the Laguna Beach area. He won the surf division in the Ultimate Boarder this year and is working with fellow Matuse Family Member, Hans Hagen, for LRG clothing.
Matuse Family Member, Flynn Novak, decides to visit Uncle Owl to order a short board. Owl Chapman is known for making some of the world’s best big wave boards. Flynn recently rode one of them in smaller Rockies and was able to turn it really well despite it being such a big board(Check it here: http://matuse.com/media/videos/team/flynns-big-yellow-board-2/). Experiencing the North Shore of Oahu for the first time was all Derek Dunfee needed to spur his quest for bigger waves. He has since committed himself by training hard, maintaining a positive attitude and putting himself on the line whenever the swell models blink brightest. Now Derek is a world-renowned big wave surfer, winning an XXL Monster Paddle award in 2009 and following it up with the 2010 Surfer Poll Worst Wipeout award for a beastly fall on a mountain-sided wave at Mavericks.
