“As the holidays were wrapping up and mother winter was closing in,
the time had once again come for me to plan my winter adventure far far away from the frigid Carolinas.
The winter prior I had packed my bags in search of South America for just over a month, she was oh so very kind as my transit home breached well into a three month hiatus.
Something unique was calling me back to this travel,
the simplicity of the country, the new friends and family I had made from my travels past, the clean food and quality of the air, rekindling a friendship with an old best mate of mine who now resides there with his beautiful family, the consistency of the surf,
perhaps it was all of the above…

So back to Ecuador it was,
only this visit would be nearly four months with an additional flight to explore the Galapagos Islands to boot.
The local folk were as kind as I remembered, I surfed more, slept better, lost weight and gained sanity as if we never skipped a beat.
I had many friends come and go throughout my stay,
some surfed while others partied all however making the vow that they would soon return back to this promiseland.
The Galapagos too was so incredible,
although I will be saving this tale for my next entry—-

When passing through Ecuador do yourself, your family and friends a kindness and look up the good people at La Buena Vida, they run such an incredible business and are bar none some of the most hospitable humans you will friend during these travels,
and that in itself speaks volumes my people.”
