RIP TONY GWYNN : 5/9/60 – 6/16/14
“Oh doctor!” was heard by Jerry Coleman most times Tony Gwynn went to the plate. Maybe one of the greatest players to ever pick up a bat, Tony’s tenacious work ethic and his love of the game fueled and drove his namesake into the upper echelon’s of baseball history. No doubt one of the more storied careers in the game’s history. A local icon in San Diego and hero to millions. RIP Tony Gwynn. You live on.
