Help Us Help Flynn Novak

Flynn Novak

So we’re down to the wire and Flynn has a slim lead on the final spot, #5, for Taylor Steele’s new movie. We need your help. Go to innersection.tv and vote for Flynn. Here’s how you do it:

(1) Visit “Sections” at innersection.tv or CLICK HERE to go direct to the page. You need to place Flynn in the top five of your “Top Ten Vote” list. Remember to login first in order to vote.
(2) Once on the page you will see 10 videos listed. Drag each video into the position you want to order them from 1 – 10. Best at top, worst at bottom.(Do this by clicking on the text next to person’s image and drag it to the rating level you want. We recommend Flynn at #1.)
(3) Once you have the videos in the order you want you’ll see a red button at the top center of the page. It says “Confirm Voting Order” or something similar. Click this red button to finalize your vote. Remember Flynn needs to be in the top 5 at the end.

Thanks for your help. Spread the word to all your friends to help vote for Flynn. Get on it, time is running out. He has some of the most progressive and powerful surfing and deserves a spot on the video.

“Kenny Stittsworth & Int’l Team Introduce Sol Raiz Brazil”

It’s no secret that the majority of the Matuse family/team has discovered the benefits of Sol Raiz Organics Maca. We’ve expanded our product line, offering everything Maca from capsules for the traveling athlete to loose leaf Maca tea for the homebody. A few months ago, on a last minute film trip to Todos Santos with Jaime Sterling (Big ups to Jim Curry @ EFX), I was fortunate enough to hang with this years 2010 Big Wave World Champ, Brazilian, Carlos Burle.

At 42, Burle, the mellowest madman I’ve met, is on a strict training regime incorporating yoga, paddling, meditation, and premium health food products, ie. Sol Raiz Organics Maca.

I was in Peru a couple weeks ago for my usual business run to the Andes and received an invite from Carlos to come visit Brazil and his team who also work on projects tied to organic food products. Upon arrival, I was introduced to some breathtaking surf spots with fun, rippable surf. I’ve been getting some great waves with the Champ and strategizing with his team on how to best launch Sol Raiz Brazil. With Brazil’s relentless beach culture setting the bar for beach bodz, Sol Raiz Organics Brazil is sure to help keep ‘em toned up, in and around Rio.

At press time, I’m still in Rio, but wanted to send a friendly reminder to y’all back home: With summer just around the corner in the northern hemisphere- any times a good time to train hard with the help of Sol Raiz Organics ultimate superfood- Maca… in your Matuse, of course.

Um Abraço,

Kenny Stittsworth

You can find Sol Raiz Organics in San Diego at all four Jimbo’s… Naturally locations, O.B. Peoples Co-Op, the Greenery, Mozy Cafe (with your acai bowl), and Cream of the Crop- O’Side. Or contact them direct at – www.solraizorganics.com (888) SOL-RAIZ

Matuse Family: Jamie Sterling In Chile

Jamie SterlingPhotos: Philip Muler

Dear Matuse Family,

While in Chile I was given the opportunity to help the people in Chile who’s lives were interrupted from the huge 8.8 earthquake and Tsunami that hit in Feb. I joined Save the Waves Foundation down in the city of Constitution. This town was severely damaged. The whole town was a mess. It looked way worse then what we were seeing on the news back in the states. Generous sponsors sent clothes and energy bars down to Chile and we distributed them to school kids, the Red Cross, and the police. It was nice to see the people smiling despite what they all are going through. Many of the fisherman are still trying to fix their boats to get back to work. It’s been hard since most of their tools and parts were washed away in the tsunami. Things are getting back on track thanks to the support of many. My hearts go out the People of Chile.

We were fortunate to score some good waves down near the city of Constitution. Small, fun and hollow little waves. I’m heading back to Pichilemu to wait for the big wave contest to run. Fingers are crossed a big enough swell hits during our waiting period.

Aloha, Jamie

Matuse Family: Zach Plopper

When I was 11 I entered the Menehuene Division of the Fletcher Cove stop on the NSSA tour, my first surf contest. I had no idea what a surf contest entailed other than surfing. I made the final with Brian Conley who was one of the best grommet surfers in the country at the time. I remember being so nervous before the final I couldn’t speak to my little posse (seen in photo) I had supporting me on the beach. I won that contest. I vividly remember my reaction to the win. I thought I was so good. I just beat the star….on his home turf! After that I lost first round in every contest I entered for two years.
