Tyler Cuddy has been on the North Shore for the past few weeks and sent us some pics of Matuse Family Members. Mikala Jones and Daniel Jones, ripping their local break of Rocky Point. If this makes you surf amped as much as me look for the pockets of good wind to hit your local break and get out there.

Big congratulations to Richie Lovett for placing 1st in the “King of the Beach” category, while also placing 2nd in both the “SUP” and “Twin Fin” categories in the Manly Surf Festival held last month. It’s good to see Richie still competing on a friendly level.

Dear Matuse Family,

I made my way up to Ventura Friday afternoon for the comp last weekend and I scored a fun sesh out at C street. That session got me vibing and stoked for the comp on Saturday. I was super nervous my first heat after six months off of competing, for a second in the water I envisioned myself losing first round out. I snapped out of it, won that first heat and continued to win the rest of my heats through the final! I was grooving, surfing well and surfing smart. I can’t thank you guys enough for the suits! They are insane…really warm:) and nice and flexible. They felt all smooooth too. Here’s a link to the NSSA story on it if you wanna read more: http://www.nssa.org/newsmanager/templates/NSSAArticle2007.aspx?articleID=920&zoneID=1

J Waters: Welcome Back Weezy

About a year ago Lil’ Wayne dropped one of his best mixtapes,  No Ceilings. If anyone still doesn’t have that album it really is about time to scoop it up… he simply kills it. After getting out of jail only a about a month ago he drops his latest hit 6’7″ which is supposed to be featured on his next album The Carter 4. Produced by Bangladesh and featuring Cory Gunz, this song is raw. Many people were worried that Lil’ Wayne’s rhymes would be affected by his time. No need to worry anymore ladies and gentleman, Weezy is back. In addition to 6’7″ here is another song that some of you may recognize off Tha Carter Documentary when Weezy is freestyling on his tour bus. It’s called 30 Minutes to New Orleans.
