Happy Labor Day to all the workers in the US. Like we love to say around here, You Can’t Knock the Hustle. It’s good to have a day to recognize all those who put in the hard work to make this country great. So keep your hustle on and be recognized for your talents. Labor Day was signed into law by Congress in 1894. It’s also considered to be the last day of summer and by many women to be the last day you can fashionably wear white. Regardless of your fashion sense enjoy the time with friends and family and hopefully catching some great waves.

Dear Matuse Family,
Hope all is well on the home front. Bali has been a whirl wind of a journey. A few key words to express the experience: art, cocconuts, trail maps, summer styles, left handers, tubes, love, light and the pursuit of epicness. Having an art show alongside the Drifter store grand re-opening. Been a great month of creating an Indonesian inspired show. Hung with Flynn Novak and Daniel Jones…great to reconnect with the North Shore boys. The BC Vest is heaven sent for these waters. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

Dear Matuse Family,
The photo was taken by Joe Foster this past week during a spectacular swell at Huntington Beach pier (northside) while surfing with my good friends Billy Hopkins, AJ Collins, Taylor Pai, Bryan Van Arsdale, and a few other friends. It got a bit crowded but I was able to sneak a few fun ones off the crew. The short-arm fullsuit is working perfect up here. Thanks for the support.

Matuse Family Member, Kai Otton, was one of a few guys to score a perfect 10 at the Billabong Pro in Tahiti this past weekend. The final day is on now but unfortunately Kai didn’t make it past the 5th round. Still a great showing to help him requalify for the tour. He’s right around the cut line and needs a good showing in NY to make the mid season cut. We’re not sure yet where he’s at with his recent result but it’ll help for sure. Be sure to visit Billabong’s website to see Kai’s perfect 10 ride. Kai wore his Philo 1mm top the whole contest to keep warm and safe when he contacted the reef.
