HAPPY BIRTHDAY SNOOP

Has it really been almost 20 years since “Deep Cover” and the infamous chorus that became even bigger than the Larry Fishbourne flick? Even more, that same year in 1992, Snoop’s career was jumpstarted by the solo debut of Dr. Dre on his historic album “The Chronic”. It is hard to believe Snoop was only 19 years old when he took the music business by siege back in the early 90’s. Today he transcends music and almost defines pop culture. Today, Calvin Broadus, Jr., AKA Tha Doggfather turns 40 years old. Happy Birthday Snoop Dogg. Props to a legend.

Foo Fighters in San Diego

Images: AK.

Matuse Family Members Aaron Kim, John Campbell and Hans Hagen were able to check the Foo Fighters last night at the Viejas Arena (formerly known as the Cox Arena). Dave Grohl is a certified rock star. His energy, showmanship and connection to the crowd was second to none. The show rocked for well over 2 hrs. followed by a solid 5 song encore that featured a sick cover of the classic Tom Petty song Breakdown. The band closed with the always energetic Everlong.

Above are a couple of shots from the show followed by Hans Hagen picking up the tickets and all access passes while Johnny looks on. If you didn’t know, Hans has been best friends with drummer Taylor Hawkins since he was 8 yrs old. Both hailing from the Dana Point area Hans was able to make the quick drive down to see his friend play the show. The last shot shows the back lot with all the trucks loading the stage, lighting and sound equipment for the next show. Oakland, Wed, 10-19-2011 at the Oracle Arena. Check it if you can. http://www.foofighters.com/us/tour
