The Blacksheep Family at the Wedge

Photos: Thomas VanMellum.
Matuse Family Member, Thomas VanMellum, sent over a couple of shots from the last fun swell to hit the infamous Wedge. Here are his descriptions of the photos:
Photo 1
Rider: Charlie McCauliffe aka Hawthorne
Backstory: Mother Wedge can get dirty but this honey badger don’t give a sh*t. Hawthorne is usually hanging out on the beach trying to pick up on girls with his pink turbos and yellow flippers, but occasionally he snags a sexy wave…case in point. That guy in the foreground can’t stop staring at him! If Hawthorne grew a beard he might be the sexiest man alive.
Photo 2
Riders: Parker Varner aka Richie Rich (he looks like Richie Rich and drives a Land Rover….seriously) and Scott Mathpubes aka Pubes
Backstory: Sharing is Caring in life and it holds true in bodysurfing as well. Wedge is known for offering up GIANT peaks, but a lot of people don’t know it has a fast, shallow, and mean side wave. Richie Rich and Pubes are showing us you don’t need a board to ride…that’s what friends are for. Ditch the board, ride a friend.
