IN THE SPIRIT OF THIS YEAR'S HALLOWEEN

RAD OMEN – “Rad Anthem” from Nicholaus Goossen on Vimeo.

A Matuse photo shoot from a couple years back decided to go HAM on the laurels of big business and having a flippin good time celebrating the 5 year anniversary as well as Hallow’s Eve. That said, the Colonel, Jack, Ronald, Wendy, and even the King all made appearances for sending it, for the sake of Ichiban. Throwback and much love to Dirt Nasty, Nick Swardson, Pete Dante, and DJ Troublemaker. And never ending amor for Sergio, Aaron, Rick, Matt and JVC for keeping the good times going. Looking forward to this year’s October 31st. Sorry Ricky about the Wendy costume, hope everyone has a rad anthem to their rad weekends.

TBT: TODAY IS A GOOD DAY

“Today Was A Good Day” Extended Version from Lightpress on Vimeo.

Pay homage to the inspiration

No one in the 90’s, aside from Pac brought it harder than Cube. “The Predator” aside from the cheesy 80’s Swarchenegger flick, is one of the 90’s hardest albums. A little more than 10 years later and a few years ago, Nike and Paul Rodriguez came out with a similar ad campaign for Nike SB, developing the “Good Day” video into their own rendition. Marking a new generation of commercials shot on the innovative and influential RED technology. Throwbacks to both and the inspiration to have a good day today. Cool out.

APOCALYPSE NOW 34 YEARS YOUNG

Heart of Coppola from Brian Carroll on Vimeo.

This past August, Coppola’s masterpiece turned 34 years old. Apocalypse Now was one of the most extensive productions in motion picture history. It was filmed over the course of 6 years and had numerous setbacks, drug addictive cast members, and chaotic bouts of insanity from its crew that only seemed to add to its grandeur. In the Vietnam remake of Joseph Conrad’s classic Heart of Darkness, Coppola proved why he was more than just a one hit wonder with the Corleone family. Take a BTS look at what went down on screen and off. Props to one of the greatest, shout out to Hopper, Sheen, and Brando. The war movie to change all war movies…

TAJ BURROW

Waaves (Taj Section) from Taj Burrow on Vimeo.

Big ups to Taj and his most recent success at the Hurley Pro. No doubt he was prepared to take care of business at Lowers this past week. Fun watching the contest and watching all the stiff competition. Congrats! Take a peek at some similar shredding from a year ago when Taj was in Bali. Edited beautifully by Nathan Foster.

AMERICAN MADE

American Value: Herb Dishman: China, TX from Nomadique on Vimeo.

Hump day over, the five day work week is almost coming to a close. But in most places around the world, including the ol’ U.S. of A, operate on a twenty-four hour, seven-day-a-week schedule. The life of a farmer is just that. In an era where the concept of made in America is becoming increasingly foreign, Herb Dishman shows you why that consideration won’t die by his watch. From generation, passed down to generation, rice farming in a place called China, isn’t outsourced. In fact, in China, Texas, it is alive and well and Herb tells you why. Keep up the hustle, never hang em up, on to the next one.
