What: The Museum of Contemporary Art presents Art in the Streets, the first major U.S. museum exhibition of the history of graffiti and street art. The exhibition will trace the development of graffiti and street art from the 1970s to the global movement it has become today, concentrating on key cities where a unique visual language or attitude has evolved. In conjunction with Art in the Streets, the Cinefamily will present a week of documentaries, live panels, Q&As, and parties, featuring many key participants and witnesses of the early graffiti and street art scene. A closing-night party will revolve around the most ancient form of street art—the cave paintings of southern France— with the premiere of Werner Herzog’s new 3-D documentary, Cave of Forgotten Dreams, screened at the Natural History Museum.

Matuse Family Member, Yves Bright, surfed in the Freedom Artists Surf Series at Westward beach last weekend. The punchy fast beach break proved challenging but did offer up some nice sections for the surfers. Yves seen above drawing the high line in his Hoplite 432mm fullsuit.
