So I went on a trip to Jamaica with my girlfriend. It was so unbelievably beautiful. We had the best time. We stayed at a hotel in Negril called the Rock House. Here are some pics from the trip

This may be my favorite image from this trip. I like to photograph with this really cool under water camera. It looks like it fell out of a Jacque Custo book. I was swimming through some caves under water. There is a little spot between the two caves you can grab some air before going through the second one. As I was surfacing I snapped this quick.

So this is my girlfriend diving into the water off this cliff right in front of our little villa. It’s so beautiful. You walk out your front door about 10 feet and you have a small patio with a 8 ft. jump into the Caribbean. The whole hotel is set in a secluded cove.

I was snorkeling for about an hour just staring at all this interesting stuff under water. I was in the zone when I heard this funny noise. It was this guy motoring around dropping all this chum in the water. He was drawing these little fish around his glass bottom boat. Then he was catching them and using them for bait. I have to use the word glass bottom boat loosely. It was more like he had a massive hole in his boat that he covered with clear resin.

So this one of the small caves under water you can swim through. All of the colors and the reef are so beautiful there. I felt like a little kid swimming through hulu hoops in the pool again. I must of done it 100 times. It didn’t matter it was just so cool.

Here is the Misses jumping off our patio into the water. It was so great. There is no one around. It’s like sleep away camp for adults.

This was my James Bond shot for the weekend. Amis (My GF) was walking up the stairs in one of the caves we swam over too.

Come on, would this be a Joe Termini blog without me doing something nuts? Amis snagged this of me right before I hit the water. Can you see where I jumped from? Exactly! It was so high and I almost fell off like 6 times trying to get up there.

Here is a few snap shots I have taken on this roll of Black and White film. It covers some walking around in NY. A snap shot of the great SanO as well as collage I did. Enjoy.

I save receipt boots polaroid’s, pictures, match books, whatever. Then I kind of put them all together and rephotographed them. There is also one of my favorite Bob Dylan quotes in there.

It may be kooky I know. But I love SanO. It is so much fun to just glide around and surf there. I have a 11ft CC that I glide around on out there. Its so much fun to just trim.

There is this really amazing car spot right around the corner from my Apt. You have to pay a yearly membership to be apart of this car club. They have vintage everything. Once your a member and you pay your dues you can take anyone of there beautiful vintage cars out for a drive. There are always sweet rides sitting out in the street. This is one of them.

Getting around the city can be tricky at times. This shot I took uptown. I was skateboarding in the middle of traffic flying down the hill. I thought I was the man until I clipped a taxi mirror with my hip. I just kept going. I got home and had a big round purple bruise on my hip. It was ugly and hurt like hell.

The road less traveled. Frost right? Well it was late and I was wondering around the village. I saw an open hatch to a basement. I figured I would check out what was down there. If anyone asked I’d say where the hell is the bathroom. I think it was a restaurant so I felt as if I was covered. Exploring is exploring. I went down and saw a few boxes. Turned a corner by this door that was hanging slightly off the hinges. In that room was all these wires. I was down there for like 20 minutes snooping around. Did not see a soul.

I went to the Fruezabruta show the other night and got some amazing pictures. It is an amazing theatrical show that is almost to hard to explain. Here are some images of the show. I hope you enjoy.

This image is of a girl swimming on a massive transparent sheet of plastic. The show is amazing. They lower a giant plastic sheet down over your head about 10 inches from your face and the bodies slide and glide in front of you. It’s amazing.

Here is yet another image of the bodies floating over us. You can see faintly the peoples heads just underneath the massive sheet of plastic.

I love this image. It feels so dream like.

This is a magical show that is so incredible to see. It was really amazing and beautiful. The only sad part was they were not wearing Matuse wetsuits.

So this post is a little random. The images are all from the same trip where I was recently working with Levi’s in Northern California. We had all kinds of weather. It was hot and dusty and cold and rainy.

I took this first photograph about an hour north outside of Santa Barbara. This place was amazing. We were driving through the dunes and jumping them. I have video of it. I just have to figure out how to post it its unreal!

This next photo was taken in the same place. I really love these images because they look like they could have been taken any where in the world. I love that about California. Its scenery is so diverse.

Something can’t officially be considered an adventure unless I am almost getting hurt one way or another. I thankfully did not get hurt. Though I did wash sand out of all different parts of my body for over a month.

This shot is me doing some stand up drags at around 20 mph. That was a blast until that cool bright red jean jacket got ripped clear off my body going over a dune. Images of myself getting dragged through the dirt. A familiar feeling for me.

On our way back we stopped at this ranch. The photographer “Ryan McGinley” wanted to see the animals. He is like some sort of animal whisperer. It’s scary he gets so close to bears, horses, deer, coyotes, snakes…whatever. He is totally cool with them. So I snapped off a few images of him laying down with the horses. I got this bright idea that I was going to roll over an lay with them. Then the plan was to send a photo to my mom that night.

Yo as soon as I sat down Ryan was like “get closer come on get closer!” I was like sure. He took this one frame then he started busting out laughing. As you can see, the horse got up and tried to kill me. Everyone thought it was hilarious. I stayed away from the horses for the rest of my trip.

So we are North of San Francisco. And we come across this bridge with a rope swing. The water is freezing and it has been raining for basically four days straight. The water is raging. We wanted to put some girl on the swing. So Ryan was like “Joe, test it out see if the rope breaks.”

Eager as ever, I hop right on that thing. I start swinging around and having a blast. The embankment leading down the hill is super steep an covered in mud. We had one small generator down there a strobe and extension cord.

So I am swinging in an out and dragging my legs in the water having fun. I swing out one last time and on my way back in I jump off and land on the embankment. I slide down the hill — face first in the mud and into the river. Matt, my right hand man on set, thinks fast and unplugs the light and the generator. He lassos me with the extension cord an pulls me back in. Good save kid.

That’s Matt and yours truly just after his save. Hope you enjoyed the stories.

I have some fun times with my friends. I feel as if most of the blogs I post should be marked as my Adventures. There is an amazing quote by Eleanor Roosevelt “do one thing everyday that scares you.” I would like to carry on that tradition in my life. I am also pretty certain that those who read this blog feel the same way. So here are some images of my friends and brothers (and me) putting ourselves in some interesting situations

Down hill bash

I am hoping these images will inspire the Matuse HQ to build us prototype Batman armor suits.:)

This truck was bought by my friend rob for his hotel. We quickly realized it would be of much better use than just carting people back in forth from the beach.

My name is Joe Termini. JVC asked me to post some images from my travels and adventures in NY. I Currently live in NYC and I am a surfer. For work I do photography and producing. Its amazing cause I am constantly living between these two worlds. One is being a care free surfer spending nearly every day in the water. I can say that each of these experiences is truly “the best day ever”.

Then there is another side of me. The fast pace business of the fashion world. It is completely different but I love it. It takes a little more time to find the real beauty in it. However, the beauty is there and it’s an extremely exiting and amazing world with obviously a lot happening.

Surfing keeps me grounded. Surfing allows me to understand how life in its simplest form can be full of excitement and beauty. I try to bring the same mindset to work with me everyday. So I will be posting some images of some exiting adventures, pretentious parties, and everything else that happens here. I hope you enjoy.

This is a photograph I had taken in PR. I was there for a photo shoot with Adidas. Everyone went for a swim after and I snapped a few images
