Matuse Family Member Joe Campbell Snags Silver

Joe Campbell: Choate Rowing

Dear Matuse Family:

Greetings from prep-school in CT. Missing all of you back in San Diego. The weather back East is starting to get chilly and I’m still getting used to the brisk mornings, collar-popping ladies and obvious lack of surf.

In any case, I wanted to let everyone know that my Choate Rosemary Hall Men’s Heavy Four took home a silver medal in this past weekend’s Head of the Connecticut race (kind of a big deal). The Choate Four represented hard for the Matuse Family – showing our own “premium ichiban game.” On that note, here’s a quick shout out to the peeps in my boat: From the stroke seat to the bow we have the legendary Lenny “Lock Send” Futterman, Blake Huge; the infamous Brandon Whitney, and non other than yours truly holdin’ it down at bow seat. Navigating us to victory was our trusty coxswain, Ryan Teveter.

Next weekend we race in the Legendary Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Massachusetts. If rowing had a triple crown, Head of the Charles would be part of it. We’re looking to do as we did at the Connecticut and continue to be ambassadors of Matuse.

Much love!

Joe B. Campbell
