What’s up Boys? I just came home from Tahiti where we scored perfect waves from 3 to 10 feet, and everything in between… The locals were saying that it was the best it has been in a few years now, so I feel really fortunate to have been able to experience that. I flew down to the South Pacific by myself, but met up with Benji Weatherly, Kamalei Alexander, Mikey Bruneau, Ezra Sitt, and a few other traveling surfers. I was staying right on the point at Teahupoo, and surfed it everyday for 4 days straight.
Then a huge swell and storm came in so we took a Fairy boat to another island and surfed an epic right hander that barreled and grinded for close to 200 yards. Everyone was saying that it was the best it had been in 10 years, and we surfed it all day for two days straight. I ended up getting whacked in the ear by my board and broke my eardrum! So I had to come home a week early. Luckily I was wearing my philo 1mm jacket, otherwise I would have been shredded on the reef during the ear-breaking-wipeout! Other than that I’m all good! I’m going to be home doing some R&D on my performance short boards, and getting ready to go to two 6 stars in Brazil, and then the U.S. Open. I hope all is well!
Aloha, Flynn
