Surf, Art and History in Texas

The Weekend of June 1st went off in Texas with a collection of art, music, films and history! The 4th annual Art Walk in Corpus Christi, Texas, was home to such artists as Jon Steele and John Olvey who displayed their work Friday and Saturday next to large music celebrities who visited the stages throughout the day and night.

MoviePoster_sm.jpgWith more on hand to do with surfing, the opening of the Texas Surf Museums’ new exhibit “Surfing through the 70’s” brought out groms and elders alike. Enough attention that even EX-TexanWade Koniakowsky donated a new painting to the show!

The weekend was brought to a close by yet another amazing slideshow set to music by Jon Steele presenting his last 6 months of surf traveling. The premiere of the soon to be cult classic sci-fi surf film “INVASION FROM PLANET C” closed the show down to the amazement of the crowd and encouraging them to “mine the stoke!”.

Thanks to all of our sponsors and everyone in attendance for supporting the arts!
