Matuse Family: Derek Dunfee Opening Day

Opening Day for California was scheduled for Wed, Nov. 3, 2010. All swell models and weather predictors pointed to what looked like an epic start to a La Nina winter. Although the hype was bigger than what was delivered some epic moments still were branded into the minds of some surfers up and down the coast. Matuse Family Member, Derek Dunfee, deep in the bowl at Mavericks. His dedication, early morning paddle and patience in the trying conditions netted him this sweet one.
