This past August, Coppola’s masterpiece turned 34 years old. Apocalypse Now was one of the most extensive productions in motion picture history. It was filmed over the course of 6 years and had numerous setbacks, drug addictive cast members, and chaotic bouts of insanity from its crew that only seemed to add to its grandeur. In the Vietnam remake of Joseph Conrad’s classic Heart of Darkness, Coppola proved why he was more than just a one hit wonder with the Corleone family.
