New Fall/Winter 2012 Campaign

We want to call-out some of the finer points about our latest collection of images. For starters, this Fall’s shoot is dedicated to Fred Marinello (the shotgun-wielding graybeard). A Connecticut native, Fred attended the Rochester Institute of Technology and received his Bachelor’s in Graphic Design with a minor in Photography (Edward Weston and Ansel Adams guest-lectured some of his classes). After college, Fred quickly grew tired of the Los Angeles ad world. So he travelled to Manila where he served in the Peace Corps. Following that “visceral experience” he then enlisted in the Marine Corps and served a tour in Vietnam as a Combat Engineer through 1969.

Subsequently, he designed the Torrey Pines High art program with Michelle Gaughen – which Fred then helped build for the next 35 years. Along the way, he never stopped making art and still produces roughly 300 pieces every year. Without question, Fred keeps it moving.

Next, in addition to Matuse Family Members Joel Tudor and Chris Del Moro, this shoot highlights Chloe Buckley, Danny Dean and Irene Pyun sporting Alexandra Cassaniti’s Geometry Collection. Also in the mix are Triathletes Felipe Loureiro and Navy Seal Team Six Veteran, Mitch Hall. Both are wearing the new Dojo Triathlon suit. Like Fred, we believe that variety is a good thing. This shoot is affectionately referred to as All My Friends. Inspired by LCD Soundsystem’s classic, this rough title celebrates to the unique character that defines each of us and the characters that help shape our experiences. Real talk. It’s art + function. And it’s all good.
