Lucas Thornton Loves his Matuse

Photo: L. Thornton. The photo is from a journey Lucas made from Eureka on a skateboard to the bay. Once there he put his suit on and placed his sk8 on his back and paddled across to the other side. Lucas then skated to the Jetty, surfed 4 hrs till peak of low tide and made the journey back. It took all day (from 12 to 7pm). No gas and all stoke.

Here’s a recent email sent in from a Matuse customer. Even after a couple of years of wear and tear and lots of miles Lucas is still getting great use from his suit. Here’s what he wrote below.

Matuse crew,

Thanks for all your awesome gear, I have a suit from you guys I’ve worn for two years. Hiked it out miles, surfed it 4-5 times a week, hung it out to dry, washed it in the tub, and ripped buckets with it. I thought you’d like to know how it’s lasted. The zipper tab broke on the key pocket, sinch cord for hood and entry broke, blew out the knee just above the pad, holes around the chest panel, hole in the side of the hood, titanium wore off on arms, but the seams are flawless and the Geoprene still supple. I love this suit and continue to wear it even with the worn out spots. I can never go back to those bulky hotlines and excels. Up here in Humboldt the water is very cold, but this hooded medium 543 tumo does the job and still keeps me warm.

Thanks
~Lucas

We appreciate the feedback and have already made adjustments to address the wear Lucas saw in this older model. The new model is even better and can be ordered here: http://matuse.com/shop/wetsuits/mens-wetsuits/tumo-hooded-543mm/
